Washington' Hawthorn is a dense, thorny and broadly oval crown. The stems are brown and slender, with very slender 1-3" long thorns. The reddish-purple foliage matures to a dark green and changing in the fall to various shades of orange, scarlet and purple. The flowers are single white blooms and the small red fruit will stay on the branches through the winter.
