This showy tree is upright and oval in shape. The 'Green Mountain' has all of the characteristics of the sugar maple with the strong limbs and the gorgeous yellow-orange, to orange-red fall color. The fruit of the sugar maple, called a samara, is double winged, papery seed-bearing fruit. The 'Green Mountain' is also a good street tree with its leathery leaves and durable foliage that resists heat and drought environments.
