One of the most desired native trees in the Pacific Northwest. This small multi-stemmed upright tree or shrub is famous for fall color and its ability to hold water banks and eroding soil. The new growth is tinged red turning medium green with maturity. Foliage is palmately lobed with 7 to 11 lobes almost circular turning a bright yellow to red-orange in the fall. Winged red samaras form in the late spring.
